UlcerGard is for the prevention of gastric ulcers in healthy horses that weigh at least 600 lbs, including breeding stallions. However it has not been determined to be safe for pregnant mares. One daily administration of ulcergard is recommended in horses exposed to stressful conditions which may include: training, racing, showing, traveling, stall condiment and competition.
